I first discovered Hatha Yoga in 1993. Although yoga dates back before recorded history, it took time for it to become so popular in the U.S. As more styles were developed and more opportunities arose, I began exploring. Hatha developed into a dedicated practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa flow, Bikram, Jivamukti, Vini Yoga, Iyengar, and finally Anusara. In 2004 I began an Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow teacher training program with Larry Schultz at It's Yoga in San Francisco. The vigor of the Ashtanga Vinyasa practice brought out a cardio thrill and taught me to move free and steady enjoying the constant dance of Yoga. I enjoyed the movement so much, I went all the way to New York to study. Here I practiced under Sri Dharma Mittra, training in his style of Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa. I also began training in Thai massage under Ananda Apfelbaum at the NYC Yoga Shala.

Returning to San Francisco, I continued to train with teachers such as Shiva Rea in "Yoga Trance Dance", John Friend the founder and developer of Anusara yoga and Jane Austin San Francisco's amazing pre and postnatal yoga instructor. I began blending different styles of yoga with my training in Martial Arts, Thai Chi, West African dance and other inspiring meditative forms.

Believing you should "only teach what you practice" I opened my first studio Tea House Yoga in 2005. These classes began to attract a large variety of students from the highly athletic to first time yogis, all searching for something outside a traditional practice.

Now opening my second Yoga studio Yoganiche, I continue to practice and teach my own personal blend of styles and traditions.
